In Chinese landscape paintings, minuscule figures might not be immediately noticeable especially when the scenery is monumental. No bigger than specks, they in fact define the mood and import of the works. To coincide with the exhibition “Mini-figures in Paintings”, the HKMoA has invited Prof Tong Kam-tang, Adjunct Associate Professor of the Department of Fine Arts, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, to share his insights on the significance, portrayal and appreciation of figures in Chinese landscape paintings.
Speaker: Prof Tong Kam-tang
Language: Cantonese
*Enrolment is not required. The Hall will be open for admission 15 minutes before the talk commences. Limited seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
